  • It is often said that life gets harder as we grow older. However, without such hurdles and uncertainties in life, we will probably never realize how pure, memorable and unforgettable our school days are. In Methodist College, I received the best education and met the most affectionate teachers and dearest schoolmates.

The school always strives to provide the best learning environment for students. The strong bond between teachers and students has allowed me to gain valuable knowledge of not only academics but also non-academic aspects. Academically, teachers are always well-prepared for each and every lesson. Not only do they monitor the progress of the whole class, but they also pay special attention to students who lag behind by sacrificing their own time in coaching them. I can still vividly remember the smiling faces who greeted me after lesson time, whenever I encountered any difficulties in my studies. It is their friendly and welcoming attitude that helped me unleash my potential and achieve brilliant results. Paying attention to students’ personal development, teachers passed onto students their thoughts and life experience onto students. In my daily lessons, I learned how commitment, confidence and perseverance matter in every deed that we do, be it big or small. They were also my advisors, who provided me with advice for my future study and career path, while at the same time were willing to listen to my worries. Here, in Methodist College, teachers are our guiding light in learning and our friends who stay with us through thick and thin.

Emphasizing whole-person development, the school offers a lot of exchange opportunities and extra-curricular activities for students. The Immersion Programme to Singapore in 2013 was definitely the highlight in my six years of education here. Hoping for a global learning experience, I spent two weeks studying in an international school in Singapore. During the stay, I struck up conversations with many local students who were from different countries, including Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam. This valuable experience not only deepened my understanding of various cultures but also enabled me to develop a global perspective. Here, I must thank Methodist College for giving me such a golden opportunity to learn outside the classroom. Catering to the interest of different students, the school also offers various clubs and societies. Being the committee member of the History Society, I had got ample opportunities to serve people. During the school’s Founders’ Day, my team-mates and I organized game stalls for parents and students. This was undoubtedly one of the most unforgettable moments in Methodist College and I am sure that all of my counterparts will feel the same way as I do from their own experience of engaging in various activities in the school.

Six years have passed and I can’t believe I have graduated from my beloved secondary school. Here, I experienced both happy and sad moments which have all turned into memories that I will cherish forever - those early morning classes, fun-filled events and daily chit chats have made my secondary life meaningful and unforgettable. The long-lasting relationships with my teachers and peers are definitely the greatest present that Methodist College gave me.

    Thank you, Methodist College
