As I reach the end of my secondary school journey, I am grateful for the opportunities and guidance offered by my alma mater throughout the years.
Methodist College instilled wisdom in me. In preparation for the public exam, the school provided me with adequate support and resources. Teachers dedicated their time to conduct supplementary lessons and tailor learning materials to suit my individual needs. They were always eager to help and gave detailed feedback on my work and papers, even outside regular school hours. Furthermore, they also cared about my mental well-being, ensuring that I felt supported along the way. Despite the heavy stress and burden, I could always feel the warmth and encouragement from both my friends and teachers.
Methodist College felt like one big family. During my time in Form Five, the school proudly introduced a new Vertical House system that connected students in the school. I could engage in different activities regularly organized by the four houses. The best part was how that allowed me and my fellow schoolmates to build unique bonds with one another and create a collective spirit, particularly highlighted in events like Sports Day. In addition, every form has its own individual form association that was primarily managed by students, as well as a class association for each class. As for our new members of the school, they were always greeted with open arms to the school and were taken care of by the senior students. The Big Brothers and Big Sisters scheme especially helped new students to integrate into the new school environment. With more clubs and societies available, no one was ever left out here in this inclusive atmosphere.
From the first time I walked up the little hill in Gascoigne Road to the bittersweet moment when our teachers stood in line at the Sanctuary to bid me farewell, numerous memories were forged, and I am truly thankful to have lived through these experiences. As I have transitioned from a young student into a mature individual, I feel blessed to receive my enriching education in Methodist College, where I am guided with insightful directions that shape my future life.
