王莉莎同學
Walking down the slope on my last day as a student at this school, reminiscing the good old days, I was sentimental and grateful concurrently. I was scared of the bleak future and battlefield-like public exam but was thankful for the education that I have received here.
When it comes to my learning, support from the teachers played an integral part of my success in the DSE. I did particularly well in English. I was not confident in my English proficiency until I entered the College. I still remember the moment when my interest in the language was kindled - when a teacher invited me to join the Debate team after the English oral exam. I could not believe it. I doubted my ability. But the teachers reassured me that I am capable and have the gift to do it. Thanks to her words, I started my endless exploration of the language. I began to join many English related activities. I also started to do extremely well in English after the first term of Form 1. That was the power of sincere support from teachers. Luckily, I continued to receive great support from my teachers. I loved attending English lessons as they were always fun and enjoyable. To do well in language subjects, you need to love that language first and the teachers in this school made me love the language.
The school is also a place for self-exploration. During my six years in the school, I discovered the talents in me and my interests. I took part in many different activities during my six years at the College, ranging from running for the Students’ Union as the President, to joining the English Drama team. I would say Methodist College is a place which unleashed the potential and godsend in me. If you asked the old Alisha, ‘Do you know that you can be a leader, an actress, a debater and an emcee someday?’, she would shake her head in disbelief. The many activities that I have participated in shaped me, nurtured me and guided me to be a better individual with my own distinct character. Thanks to the strong support from the school, I was also privileged enough to join multifarious activities to further cultivate my talents.
Methodist College is a place of love, I believe if the school, parents and students alike continue to play their parts, the school will nurture more leaders of the new era with decent personalities.
